BT and Ford Sync

First time poster. I have had a Windows Phone for 3 years and now have a Samsung S6 Edge. Every time I get in my car now that the phone is paired it starts playing a song on Spotify. I have turned off auto play in Sync. It was the same behavior on the Windows Phone and there is no way to stop or kill Spotify, only pause. I have uninstalled Spotify but would really like to use it since I pay for it. Anything I am over looking?

also, it does this whether or not the stereo is set to BT Audio, it just plays into space and uses data.
