BUG: Sometimes can't change device

I'm hoping to switch my entire household to use Spotify, but I can't get it working.

 

I have 3 Spotify Connect devices so far:

  1. Sonos Play:1
  2. Google Chromecast Audio with old music system
  3. AudioCast (very similar to the Cromecast audio, just a different brand) with old music system.

Each one works on it's own.  However I have problems when I switch, especially from 2) to 1).  I see the message shown in the attachment and it fails to switch.  The only solution I have found is to walk all the way back to the room for 2) then power it off - after that I can listen on 1).

 

All of that is the best that it works.  Sometimes I don't even see some of the devices.  If I run Spotify on my PC as well it just gets worse and worse.

 

This is not what I had in mind for my wifi multiroom system.  Sometimes I use a PC, sometimes Android; sometimes I'm in one room and sometimes another.  Surely the whole point of multiroom is that this all just works.

 

Please Spotify, help me fix this problem and save me from sending my monthly £15 to Google Play Music.

 

Phone = Nexus 5X, Android 7.1.2

Spotify App = latest version, 8.4.4.810
