If you open Spotify on your phone before you close your laptop, you will have the option to continue what you're currently listening to there.
For example, I'm currently listening on Spotify Desktop, but if I wanted to listen on the Web Player, I could open the Connect panel and select the Web Player (or whatever device I want to switch to).
