Cannot log in to mobile app

So Im trying to log into the mobile app and am unable to. Ive been signed in on this phone for a long time, and have never had a facebook account connected. Or even had a facebook account. But the app wont let me sign in without connecting one. So i make an account and try to connect it on the website, and it says that an error has occured. So basically im locked out of the app

It sounds like you were trying to log in with an email address instead of your spotify user name.
