My Question or Issue
I used to use my phone to control my Spotify playing on my computer while I played games. for the past 2 days when I try to start playing a song on my phone and then switch the device to my computer it will start playing the song on my computer but the control bar at the bottom of the app on my phone disappears so there is no way to control the music from my phone. (I can click on other songs like normal and it will change the song that is playing on my computer but there is no way to play/pause skip or seek and the song title in the playlist doesn't change to green. its almost like it is connected to my computer and the in app bar controls on the bottom just don't show up/work)
Hey there @Crashb0y01 and @journeybird!
Welcome to the Community and thanks for bringing this up with us.
Right now we have an Ongoing issue with what you seem to be experiencing with the Connect feature.
You can take a look here for more info. Feel free to leave your details and +Vote in the thread as well.
Hopefully we'll have this sorted out soon, keep an eye on the page for any updates.
Let us know if there's anything else we can help out with 🙂
I started having the same problem yesterday (on the 8th of September 2021) and it's still there...why the 5 month delay in the bug?
Hi @SisterRay1982,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community.
The issue reported on this thread was already treated in the Ongoing Issue shared by @Elena.
If you're presenting the same problem, there are some things we can try here.
To start, please run a clean reinstall of both apps. This one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
If this doesn't do the trick, let us know if you're able to control Spotify on your phone from your computer.
Keep us posted.
How might we resolve this bug? It's been persistent for 6+ months and has significantly decreased the value proposition of the app. Please escalate or allow me to do so immediately
Any luck with this?
Just happened to me - mid-playback, Nov 10 2022. The link in the first response leads me to a 'no access' error. Why should I have to re-install all the Spotify apps to solve this issue? It has never happened before. It just... happened.
Has this been resolved? I just updated March 22 2022 and still seems to be happening? This is an important feature to a lot of premium users
