Cant follow friends (No follow button)

My Question or Issue

I cannot follow my friends on spotify android because there is no follow button on their profile (but i can follow them on my iPad) Why is there not one?

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

My Spotify version: 8.4.63.584 armV7

Software version: Android 8.0.0

Hey again!
Could you please try using a different Spotify account on the same device to see if it behaves the same.

Another thing you could try is using another internet connection.

Still no luck. I'm unsure whether it's just my device or all Samsung devices.

Do you have premium? Following friends is no longer available on the free mobile phone version as explained here.

Ahh that could be the case. I have free. What's odd is that I'm able to have a follow button on my computer and iPad and I assumed the phone would have one as well. I guess that solves it for now

I haven't been able to do this yet so far but I think Joes suggestion may be the solution.
