Car Stereo skip buttons, repeat not working.

Hi, after the latest update, my Car Stereo (Sony MEX BT player) - will no longer skip tracks when connecetd to Spotify on my Pixel XL.  I have double checked the car stereo buttons which all work in other modes like Radio, USB, etc.  It has only stopped working since the latest version.  I have re-paired, re-installed, rebooted....but no different.  It's a shame as it was working really well before!
