My Chromecast does not appear in the list of devices to connect to on the Spotify Android app (Galaxy Samsung S7). Other devices are listed (such as my PC). I can cast from all other apps (such as Netflix) from that same phone. I restarted everything (cast, router, phone...) and reinstalled Spotify (including removing all cached data)...
All versions are up to date...
And still... no way for Spotify App to display my Chromecast. I get bored, really.
It was working a week ago, it is broken now.
Any suggestion someone ?
Thanks!

Same!
Also recently my volume control keeps disappearing when casting. Therefore I have to close the app and reopen it to get control over volume again...then again an hour later.
Booo.
Same for me. It was fine all afternoon and now it's gone again.
Come on Spotify. I know you can afford it, but you'll be losing customers.
Exact same problem experienced by me. Been going on for weeks. I have many Chromecast devices, many Spotify devices.
The only devices affected are android and only app affected is Spotify.
Proposed fixes e.g. clear cache, reboot, factory reset, router reboot all have no effect.
15 pages of input from users and no Spotify input. Disgraceful!
Many users (me included) would happily provide test recreation info if Spotify support would engage with us.
Happening on both of my Chromecast Audios as of a few hours ago. Worked fine this morning.
I'll have to join my predecessors. Spotify does not find my Chromecast Audio. This problem only accurs using Spotify, other apps (on my Pixel 2XL) do just fine.
Interestingly though, once I connect Spotify with the Chromecast via my iPad, it also works on my Pixel...
Seguimos con el problema del Chomecast!!!
Yesterday changing the volume became unavailable for me. Today streamking all together.
Hoping to hear at least an acknowledgement from spotify?
same here. broken on all android devices. Chrome Web app still works. When can we expect a fix?
Not sure why this is marked solved. This is not solved -- broken for me as of right now. Spotify app on Pixel 2 doesn't recognize ANY of my 6 Google Homes/Minis/Chromecast speakers.
I've tried:
- Uninstalling Spotify app and re-downloading it
- Clearing Spotify app data + cache
- Resetting wifi/router
- Unlinking Spotify on my Google Home app and re-linking it
- Unplugging my ChromeCast audios and setting them up again
My husband has an iphone. His is working fine on the same wifi. My friend, who has the original Pixel, is having the same issue as me. So I'm guessing this is an Android app thing.
When I use voice commands with my Google Home asking it to play Spotify music on xyz speaker, the speaker then appears on my app... but get this: it's labled as another speaker (not the one I asked for), even though it IS playing on the correct speaker(s) I asked for.
It's driving me absolutely nuts. Please help.
Same here... Very, very frustrating!
Anyone from Spotify want to provide a god dam solution. Fix your crappy app for Christ sake or tell people the truth... you're too stupid to fix it.
You're post was 2 weeks ago, but I'm having the same issue today. What's going on and when will this be fixed. Also you should offer me a free monthly subscription for wasting hours of my time with this **bleep**!
Me too 😞 Huawei P8 Lite. There is no problem on the other devices.
I also have this problem on two Android devices. The Spotify app on both devices fail to detect any of my 3 Chromecast devices. Other apps can cast to the Chromecast devices. I have tried all the usual troubleshooting steps.
The last time the Android Spotify app and Chromecast were working was as recently as 4 days ago, hopefully this bug can be fixed or whatever changes that have clearly been made to the app or service can be reversed.
I have these same problem was working 2 days ago. Today it is not working, Spotify do something about it!
I also have the problem with the chromecast connection!
Until yesterday (approx between 3 and 7 pm UK time) I had no issues. Now Android Spotify won't detect any Google Devices on my network eg goggle home mini or Chromecast. Nothing had changed at my end.
Tried closing app, restarting phone, logging out of Spotify, updating Spotify, uninstall and reinstall. All made no difference.
All the Google devices are present in Google Home and working fine. Other Apps eg Tidal will cast to the Google devices fine.
Seems like a change at the Spotify end broke Google home integration / detection.
Interestingly all devices are visible and working on the same network with my Spotify on my iphone. Just not on my Android.
Just checked Spotify now and I can see and use my Chromecast devices again. Can Spotify pleasr explain what the issue was in the first place.
Here it's still broke.
I have an old phone with an old version of spotify and that is working correctly!
Strangely enough its working again!
