Control Spotify app from web or desktop client

Hello,

I see a lot of people using their smartphone or tablet to control their desktop installation of Spotify. However, I would like to do the opposite, and use my desktop or web client to control what's playing on my Samsung tablet (which is wallmounted). Is there anything available that can do this? If not, is there any kind of web API that would allow me to write something myself?

I'm aware you can use one Android device to control another via Connect... Never tried it from the desktop app, but you've made me curious now.

If you're running the latest beta of the desktop client you should be able to connect to your Android device and control it using the Connect protocol. Grab the desktop beta from here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Mac-and/Welcome-to-the-Desktop-Beta/td-p/932803
