Crashes when trying to play podcasts

My Question or Issue

Hello! I listen to alot of podcast on spotify but lately it crashes when i try to play a podcast. I pic an episode and it loads untill the app closes itself. First it didn't happen that much but now i can't use it at all. What can I do? Im connect to a good wifi and have plenty of space on my phone.

In case the Spotify app crashes on your mobile every time you try listening to a podcast you might be experiencing an issue we're currently aware of. We suggest you go to this Ongoing Issue and add your vote to it by clicking on the +VOTE button. Make sure you follow the steps provided under Status Update as well. 

It'll also be useful to subscribe via the three-dots menu in the top right corner next to the title. That'll make sure you stay up to date with any relevant updates about this.

The thread you are directing to has been open for months, I am having the same issue and daily more people are reporting the same issue. It doesn't seem like Spotify has given any constructive input or feedback about this bug / problem...?

The reason for this thread being open for a long time is that our tech folks are still looking into this and collecting info provided by users affected by the issue. The more details we gather from users the faster we can find the solution.
