My Question or Issue
I share 100GB of mobile data with my older brother, which is more than enough for me to listen to approximately 256kb music online. My problem is that 'Data Saver' keeps turning on everytime.
try swiping really fast to the quality setting, it may take a couple of tries, but it worked for me. make sure to turn off data saver before trying this
MOST SIMPLE THING YOU CAN DO IS GOT TO DEVELOPER OPTION AND CHANGE YOUR DPI TO 1440 AND THEN OPEN SPOTIFY IN SETTINGS YOU CAN SEE BOTH DATA SAVER AND STREAMING QUALITY COMES IN ONE SCREEN SO TURN OFF THE DATA SAVER AND CHANGE YOUR QUALITY TO EXTREME. THAT EASY!
REPLY IF THIS HELPED.
I've just noticed this on my P20 Pro.
I turn off Data Saver and I can change the streaming settings, but as soon as I leave the settings menu / app, Data Saver re-enables again and I'm set to the lower quality.
I dont want the lower quality, I have unlimited data so don't want the lower, crappier, quality music.
Is there a fix for this yet???
As i said go To Developer option in the settings (use youtube for that)
And increase your dpi so that dat saver Option and streaming quality option fits in one screen then turn of data saver and increase quality and voila! Done!
I don't think you get the actual problem.
1) Your suggestion is a bit of a hack that normal users shouldn't have to do in order to address this issue
2) The problem is, even when I do that, and then go back into the settings, Data Saver has turned itself back on and the streaming quality is back down at Low.
This is clearly a bug (Google it, there's lots of people giving out about it) that needs to be fixed.
It helped me tho 🤔
Try playing a song after you change the streaming quality to extreme and then force stop spotify clear the cache as well see if that helps
