Different devices, same problems - slow to open, and app thinks it's offline

Device

Samsung Galaxy A3 and Nokia 4.2

Operating System

Android 8.1 (?) and 9

Takes insanely long to open app, like two or three minutes. And quite often the app says to go online despite actually streaming music at the same time. It's been like this for years now. Behavior is identical on two different phones, so no doubt where the problem lies. I am a dissatisfied customer.

BTW, would love a lite version of the app. No graphics.

Hey there @peppigue,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the Community!

There are 3 things you could try on both devices in this case:

  1. A clean reinstall.
  2. Open the phone's Settings > search for "Optimise battery usage" > click on "Apps not optimised" and select "All" > search for Spotify and disable battery optimization.
  3. Enable Permissions for Spotify: Mobile Settings> Apps> Spotify> Permissions. Allow everything you see there.

You can find and download Spotify Lite from the Google Play Store. Just search for ‘Spotify’ and find Spotify Lite next to the main Spotify app.

Keep us posted!
