Elephone P8, Android 7.0

Good afternoon
I have the same problem as this user. I have downloaded the latest version available on play store:

Elephone P8, Android 7.0

Spotify closes (app closes + background service ends) 10 seconds after screen turns off.

Lock screen widget displays fine and plays so long as screen is on.  

Battery / Power Optimization is off and spotify is set to not optimized. 

Spotify has all possible permissions granted.

No other background tasks close - just spotify.

(There's no specific background task killing setting in this Android build) 

Other media players are fine too with screen off, mixcloud and the stock music player. 

Spent a solid 2 hours going through all the settings and nothing makes a difference. 

Tried clearing cache / reinstalling / changing storage location...

Long time user. This is a deal-breaker for me 😞
