Extreme battery usage on wear os without the app open.

Extreme battery usage on wear os without the app open.

Spotify on my watch started draining my battery since yesterday evening. I took it from the charger and put it on my wrist and went to sleep. 10 hours later I wake up and leave the home, after I arrive at my destination I see that my watch is 7%, which is really weird. I check my battery usage and see this:

Like WHAT, multiple problems here: 1. It used all my battery, 2. It used more than it could (probably broke android monitor or smt) 3. It was only open in the background, not playing or downloading anything. I turned on watch only mode and it got me through the day, but when I turned it back off when I got home it was 5% and within 5-10 minutes it was already dead, without me doing anything, the screen was off and nothing was open. I did some more testing and after I charged it to 15% I tested by letting it sit there not charging for 5-10 minutes with nothing open, screen off, and sure enough after that time it was 10% and as seen in the screenshot below most was used by spotify, without it being open, not even in the background.

Hey @ElectricSteve,

Thanks for reaching out & sorry to see you've been having battery drain issues on your watch!
I've seen this occur in the past and what seems to have previously helped is following these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Perform a complete clean reinstall of the app on your mobile device as shown here.
  2. Remove the Spotify app from your watch.
  3. Un-pair the watch and re-pair it to the mobile device.
  4. Install the Spotify app on the watch once more.

In case the issue remains, let us know and we'll see what else we can do here 🙂
Much appreciated! Keep us posted on how things go 🙌🏼
