That's what I thought, but UPnP was in fact enabled before I setup port forwarding. Perhaps I should remove the port forwarding I previously set up and see if it will work with just UPnP now?
Indeed! I changed UPnP to "Publish all WAN Connections", and my device is being detected again. Thanks!
There you go 🙂
Thanks man, that was the problem, now all the list are downloaded again! 😃
Great. Enjoy your music @adevoto 🙂
Can't listen to offline playlists without an internet connection. The song starts playing but there's no sound or album art. Tested with offline mode and just having internet off.
Samsung Note 2
Android 4.3
Spotify 1.1.0.113
SD Card
Quick test uninstalled spotify and removed my SD card, offline is working using internal memory.
@ken871 Could you try reformatting your external SD card in the phone then reinstall spotify again?
Sweet that worked, thanks
Same here.
1. Offline mode no sound -- It still plays (ie. the time bar still proceeds but no sound at all)
2. If the phone is airplane mode --> open spotify, it asks to login. How can I login without internet connection?!?
Phone: Samsung Note 2 (GT-N7105)
Andriod: 4.3
Spotify: 1.1.0.113
Memory: SD-Card
One of the main reason to pay premium is to listen to my albums inflight...Now it's totally gone.
@eeandy This could be down to the new installation of spotify creating a new cache and failing to delete the old cache folders. Close spotify then use a file explorer to find the folder com.spotify.mobile.android.ui under \android\data on your external SD card and delete it. Then try exiting and relaunching spotify.
Hopefully this will be enough to kick spotify back to life but please shout out if you still have problems.
Thx for ur suggestion, but it doesn't help... I used the file explorer and can locate your folder mentioned, and then I deleted completly, restart spotify, Download a playlist songs, after download make the phone airplane mode on, and then play the song, and same. I can see those files created in the com.spotify.mobile.android.ui folder.
I even formatted the SD card and it still the same. When put airplane mode off, I can hear the sound in a few seconds.

Uninstall the app then download Spotify Music from Play.
Tried but no luck though. I will try to use internal memory and see if it works.
exactly the same problem on Samsung Note8...began immediately after the Spotify security update. Now can’t use Spotify on a plane. Can’t open it unless online, and downloaded songs play without making a sound!....then undownload if I restart phone.
Tried reinstalling Spotify. No change. Any ideas or should I quit Premium?
Do you have an external SD card @spotnik ? What happens if you uninstall spotify, remove the SD card and reinstall with the card removed then download or listen to some music before reinserting the card?
thank you jwylot....I followed your instructions: uninstalled, removed SD card, reinstalled, downloaded music then reinserted card and now everything seems to be ok.
Does that mean that my music is now on internal storage, not on the SD card? If so, is there any way to store downloaded music on the SD card?
It does. As long as you're not running android 4.4.2, you can get it to use your external SD card by clearing the cache from the spotify settings page then listen to or download some music. If you are running 4.4.2 then I'm afraid you're stuck with internal storage for the moment (search goole for "android 4.4.2 external SD card").
Another thing you may want to do is locate the old spotify cache on your external SD card and delete it. The top folder is called com.spotify.mobile.android.ui and you'll find it under \android\data\.
