Greetings Spotify and the rest of us
I'm editing this message since I discovered something the other day.
When I look at my playlist on my phone, after downloading it as an offline playlist, it says that it is available but when looking at the "switch" that you can use to toggle between offline or not it's in the offline position. .
This occures when the phone, and spotify, has been unused for som time - say over night.
When I restart the spotify app I can see that all songs are downloaded but just for a little while then they are all greyed and are waiting to be downloaded again.
I got a Sony experia Z1 with a 32 GB card and I have done a clean reinstall of the OS and all the apps. The memory card is brand new...... I didn't have this problem with my 8GB card.
Maybe this is allready described by another user in this very thread, if thats the case I am sorry but I didn't feel like reading through all the pages.
Greetings
Peter

Daniel...first of all i am not a native speaker...second of all i am not very technicaly skilled person and third of all if i would have so much time to go through all the posts in this mess...well...i probably wouldn't...for me its easier to write the problem and wait for a help.....also...i can't risk to format my sd card since i'm using it as a storage for most of my programs and those are the information that i wont chance to lose. plus my problems started after last upgrade so i was wondering if that can be it...also...i am paying for premium use and so far....i don't really know why offline listening was ok while it was working but that was the only "specia" feature i noticed.

Hi, OK, let's see if it is an issue with the SD card then.... Can you uninstall Spotify then remove your SD card from the phone. Now with the SD card still removed try re-installing Spotify.
Once installed open it and login. If it's working OK then there is possibly something with your SD card causing an issue... if it's still not working you may have to perform a factory reset on your phone.
I've had issue #2 for awhile now.
Hi,
I had a case where in one specific playlist, certain particular songs would not play offline. It turns out it had something to do with where Spotify was getting the actual files it put on my phone (pre-existing files on my computer vs. downloading from Spotify).
See my other post on the matter for moe details.
Update: I just got the samsung 64GB Pro class 10 Micro SDXC, and did a fresh install of spotify, and the problem still occurs. About 40 to 50 tracks resynced on every restart of spotify. You guys need to figure out the issue with 64gb cards.
Also it seems to me that spotify may be writing to both 64gb cards slower than writing to my 8gb card, since the track downloading feels like forever. It also has a tendency to shut down prematurely before finishing to download all the tracks, which doesn't happen with the 8gb card.
Yes, it's still happening to me as well. Even after the update that said it had fixed all the Android Lollypop issues... Maybe it's a 64gb card issue, not sure... It never used to open Spotify straight away upon restart. Maybe it's that it's trying to access the SD card too early in the start-up process and then it think that there's no SD card and just loses all the data.... So frustrating. And gonna stop paying premium soon unless it gets fixed because what's the point?! Also still annoyed that there is no way to report bugs direct to Spotify through the app or even through the website. It can't just be up to the Community Forums to discuss it all - we can't make the changes!!!
I am reverting back to MP3 files. I discovered that when Spotify has no saying over my music it plays flawless....
I cannot blame you at all. This has been super frustrating and Spotify should be able to at least tell users how to solve this problem even though it required an external fix (at least, in my case). If I can find an application that finds music better and plays my files at the same time I'm still considering switching. The radio stations are beyond horrible. I still can't move tracks within the playlist on the android, and when it comes down to it, if I'm having this many problems now I'm afraid any future android problems will be neglected too. If you find an alternative please PM me. Good luck!
Actually, for the last couple of days I've been testing Google music all access, and I'm very pleased with it. It has no sd card unsync problems and in fact has very good offline storage setttings, allowing you to specify whether to store internally or externally (I know this has been another major sticking point of spotify). It actually has the features you want: you can upload your private tracks and listen to them anywhere (though you can do that free without the subscription as well); and you can rearrange tracks within a playlist (though I wasn't looking for it myself).
I'd highly recommend switching over to google music all access. Clearly Google knows how to engineer software much better than Spotify does. Moreover, their customer service is very quick and helpful, unlike Spotify.
As I wrote in another post, if you already want to go back to MP3 files, you can try google music all access, where you don't have any of spotify's bugs and you get all of spotify's features plus you can upload your own files and be able to listen to them anywhere.
Also experiencing this issue on my HTC M7 with Android 4.4.3 and Spotify 1.9.0.1273.
I have downloaded music from the site and I am unable to locate on my android device. What is normal for where to locate music that has been downloaded to your phone. Im not sure where to look or what to do to listen offline. PLEASE HELP
