My Question or Issue

The folders feature is turning saved albums and playlists into playlists under my name. I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix it and I haven't found anything online about it.

All the albums in the picture below are the ones I've saved to my library and tossed into a folder. Most of them have been renamed to me, but looking through my folder again as I'm typing this, I noticed that it's not all of them effected by this???

Is this an issue for anyone else?

Hey @GlitchedEmber,

Thanks for reaching out 🙂

What you've described is expected app behaviour for the time being!
Not so long ago, there was no option to add albums to folders at all. The feature that creates a copy of the album in the form of a playlist has been implemented as a workaround and adding the albums themselves inside of folders has yet to be possible.

If you'd like do see this changed in the future, you can add your vote to this Idea. The more votes it gathers, the better its chances for a quicker implementation.

Hope this clears things up! We're here for you in case there's anything else.

Dear Spotify,
You:
- get 30% off all of the streams
- allow AI on your platform that parasitize on the industry you're making money from
- took an eternity to add lossless format, that still doesn't support a true lossless playback (making it almost pointless)
And now I learn that you can't in a year and a half let users place an album in a folder without the stupidest workaround ever? The automatically made playlists are even public by default for some reason.
Also what do you mean "you can add your vote"? You yourself are calling it a "workaround", don't you think that thinking in "workarounds" is not a way to treat your apparently $138.30 billion product? What an absolute joke.

Ngl, I kinda forgot I made this post until I got the email for your reply. Not only has nothing come of this post and the Moderator reply being as disappointing to read as it was then, but I found another article with an easy solution back in 2017 that was marked "not right now" and left abandoned. This bug I'm complaining about never even got fixed in that time frame 😭
