Help with Radio Stations

My Question or Issue

I'm fairly new to Spotify.

If I play a pre-defined Spotify radio station based on an artist I can follow it and it gets saved to my playlists. It appears to only have a limited number of tracks like a playlist. Do tracks get added when it reaches the last track? If not, I'm not sure why this is called a radio station. Do the tracks ever get updated?

Also, if I create a radio station based on an artist, I do not have the ability to save it. Is this intended? This seems to have endless tracks like a radio station should. I'd like to save it to my playlists.
