Hey,
I'm using a Spotify Premium account on my android device.
Every time I try to play an album on the app it automatically chooses to use shuffle.
I know that I need to avoid clicking the big 'Shuffle Play' button and press on a specific song on the album instead, but it still automatically shuffles the album.
Then I need to press on the green arrows things on the buttom so it can be played by order.
And I need to do that every time I want to listen to an album. Imagine how annoying it is.
How do I circumvent this?
Thanks,
Fae.
Hey folks,
Thanks for your posts in the Community.
Currently, if the Shuffle option is enabled by you or any other party, like the Google Clock app or any external device, it'll stay on for the rest of your playback until you manually turn it off.
We understand where you're coming from and we'll make sure to pass your feedback on to the teams in charge.
You can also ad your +Vote to this idea if you find it useful. Even though the status is Closed, it's still open for voting.
Cheers!
This function is still active in July 2023, with autoshuffle and now "smart shuffle" automatically turning on for premium users on Android. I must admit that this is the first time I'm seriously considering switching providers if this issue clearly negatively affecting millions of loyal customers doesn't get addressed.
Regards,
Benjamin
This thread has been fascinating to read through. Crazy to watch the mods actively gaslight their community, as if they don't know exactly what issue is being referred to.
Shame on the mods, and of course double-shame on the company for such a blatant moneygrabbing "feature".
i am making an account for this absolute BULL.
no one said it was happening after every single song, where did you read it was happening consecutively?
we are saying its annoying that everytime we first open spotify, we have to manually turn of the damn shuffle function because it is on by default by the apps crappy design.
Hi everyone
I posted a reply a while ago and have forgotten to update. Two things solved this problem for me.
I realised that I was using Spotify as my alarm clock so my app was conflicting with my alarm app and this was wrecking havoc on the shuffle function. I turned this off and the problem was solved. I also have since changed my phone and have not had this problem ever since. I have been a premium customer since 2010 with countless cherished playlists and accurate algorithms which I didn't want to lose. So Im glad this has been sorted. I hope others find this helpful.
Hi. I'm new to Spotify and trailing it with android auto. I"m struggling with turning shuffle off for my downloaded albums and "hey Google play [said album] on Spotify" I see this has been a problem for years..... Is there a solution? If not, I'm going to have to sign up to Amazon, as this is driving me crazy
Go to settings and turn off 'Autoplay', it worked for me.
Yeah, they've fixed it some time in the last 5 years. This is an old thread.
