How to close Spotify app?

My Question or Issue

I generally only listen to music when I'm driving. When I'm done my drive, Spotify stops playing, which is great. The problem is that the app remains open, so I constantly have an icon showing in my phone's notification area. How do I get the app to automatically close when music stops playing?

Also, how do I get it NOT to start playing automatically when it connects to bluetooth? Since it uses my data, and I don't always use Spotify (I often use my own collection stored on my phone, played with PowerAmp), I want to manually start Spotify if that's what I choose to use that day.
