How to enable Spotify lock screen widget (with album art + controls) in HTC One (sense 5.0

I recently upgradedd my HTC One S (runnig Sense 4.0) to the newer HTC One (Sense 5.0 running J.B 4.1) and I noticed that the lockscreen widget is gone in Sense 5.0. It only shows basic music controls (play/pause, skip forwards, rewind) BUT NO ALBUM ART. Do you guys know if this is a specific problem with HTC One's Sense 5.0 or if it's a problem with J.B 4.1

I haven't seen any other reports of issues with Sense 5 so far. I do recall issues with the lock screen on android 4.1. but the spotify app has gone through many revisions since then so I can't draw any conclusions really. All I can suggest is to try deleting the spotify cache to see if it helps - this worked in earlier versions of android for some people.

Yea, the app overall works flawlessly like always, it's just that the lock screen widget that used to work well in sense 4.0 (J.B 4.1) in older HTC One S, HTC one X, Evo 4g, etc, no longer displays album art in sense 5.0 (still J.B 4.1) in new HTC One. I tried clearing cache, and no solution, also tried reinstalling and no luck

I'll watch out for other reports but you could use the online contact form and someone at Spotify might help get this sorted. If you get an automated reply, make sure to reply to it directly (even though it says not to) to speed things along.

Thanks, I'll give that a try, maybe it'll get solved with J.B 4.2 update coming to HTC One soon

I've got the same problem with my HTC One. Updated to android 4.2.2 last night, but the same problem still. Have had this problem ever since I got this phone. Controls show up (and work) fine, but the album art doesn't show.
