Local file covers disappeared in app

I had my covers in local file songs shown in my Android Spotify app but couple days ago they disappeared and only visible as icons but not covers. All of my files are the same and covers haven't changed. In Windows app they are all there, both as a icon and cover.

I keep my phone screen on while driving so it's annoying to stare at this blank screen as I'm driving. They also disappeared on my second Android phone's app. So I don't think it's a system or user issue.

I tried deleting cache and all downloads then removing cache and data from phones app settings and download all songs again then local files. I have local files stored inside my PC and I add all of them to 1 playlist so they can show in phone's app and I open app with both devices open and in the same wifi and download the playlist. Like I've been doing for years. But after this update in september 2nd it just gone.

now on the android app no covers are showing, its not about the audio format

We appreciate the information you've included in your message. It's very important to note that this isn't only happening with Local Files in m4a format, but other formats and devices are affected as well.

To check your case, would you mind confirming whether this is happening on all of your playlists in the Android app, or just with Local Files? If it happens with Local Files only, could you confirm the format of the affected tracks (FLAC, MP3, etc.)?

Lastly, could you confirm whether the artwork/cover is loading properly in the small thumbnail (shown in the Now Playing view), and on the lock screen?
