My Question or Issue
I was able to use Spotify to play music in my phone in the local file playlist, however, that function stopped working 3 days ago.
I've tried the following solutions:
1. Rebooted my phone -does not work
2. Uninstall/re-install app (I did the while clean app)-does not work.
3. Download desktop Spotify & added songs from phone onto PC as local files-does not work.
4. Connect to same wifi with PC/phone- not work.
5. Changed local files settings in phone-does not work.
It feels like I've tried everything that was suggested in the community poses and nothing works. Does anyone else have any other solutions? Thank you.
My local files isn't working too as well.
Same here, was able to play local files I had downloaded on my phone but now they show up in the playlist I made for them but they are greyed out and wont play. If I remove spotify from my phone I can play the local files through the basic android music player so I know they are not broken files.
Also I do not have a computer to try the wifi local files thing, so I 100% guarantee spotify app is broken.
Hi everybody,
Thanks for getting in touch about this.
Just to confirm, have you all tried these steps already?
If so, and you still can't sync your local files, it's well worth running a clean reinstall on your devices to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. Make sure to download the app again from the Microsoft Store (Desktop users) and not the website.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
I have deleted and re-install Spotify from the Microsoft store and did a clean reinstall on my phone. Still, there is no local files on my phone. Yes, I can play my local files on my computer, but my issue is I cannot play the local files that I have on my phone.
As I have mentioned, I did not have Spotify on my computer. I only had it on my phone and I was able to play music inside my phone as local files. I tried all the settings, switching it on and off but still, I cannot play the songs.
