Mobile data usage away from wifi

Mobile data usage away from wifi

  1. New to spotify. Want to make sure that I'm not using mobile data when I'm out and about. Safe to play something from my library without streaming on mobile data?

Hey @user-removed,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

Spotify needs a WiFi or mobile data connection to work. However, there are some options to reduce the amount of data used by the app. You can check all the info in this article.

If you're a Premium user, you can download your songs and listen to them in Offline Mode to avoid affecting your mobile data when you're not connected to the WiFi. You'll find all the details in this article.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

Thank you OscarDC! Sounds like I won't need to upgrade my mobile data plan. That's a good thing. Appreciate your guidance!
