Android Nougat, latest version of Spotify

On home wifi network, if my screen goes black, Spotify will stutter/be choppy/what have you. There is no "wi-fi optimization" thing in the Settings menu anywhere, so that fix won't work. Doesn't have any issue on 4G network, only the home wifi. No other internet applications have issues either.

That isn't fun, from the sounds of it, it may be that your phone is not connecting to your wifi network as it usually does when you switch off the screen. Maybe the WiFi card is in a power saving mode? I will do some more looking into this for you and let you know what I find!

Look at this thread. It sounds like the same problem. After I made the settings change suggested in that thread I also hade to reboot my phone before it started to work.

im using 4g net work ang my music stut/choppy when my screen is off.
Thanks @Jacob88s - this worked perfectly for me and prevented my phone being launched out of the window and cancellation of my Spotify Premium account.
