I can easily share to Instagram Stories but for some reason, the sound won't play. I've checked the sound on/off button when posting in stories and it's not the issue.

Has this changed for 2023? Is there a way to attach sound now?
I have a weird solution. If you listen to the Spotify song with headphones you can share the song on Instagram with music.
I can tell you what worked for me, what i did was this heard sound on Instagram on your iPhone, but there could be several reasons behind this issue. Here are some steps you can try to fix it:-
1. Check Your iPhone's Volume:- Make sure that the volume on your iPhone is turned up and not muted. You can check the volume by using the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone or by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center and adjusting the volume slider.
2. Check Instagram's Audio Settings:- When watching Instagram stories or videos, tap on the screen to reveal the audio controls. Ensure that the audio icon is not muted (it should be white, not grayed out). If it's muted, tap on the audio icon to unmute it.
3. Restart the Instagram App:- Close the Instagram app completely and then reopen it. To close the app, double-click the Home button (for iPhones with a Home button) or swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold (for iPhones without a Home button) to reveal the app switcher. Swipe up on the Instagram app's preview to close it. Then, reopen the Instagram app and check if you can hear sound now.
4. Restart Your iPhone:- Sometimes, restarting your iPhone can resolve software-related issues. Press and hold the power button until you see the "slide to power off" slider. Slide it to power off your iPhone, then press and hold the power button again until the Apple logo appears to turn it back on.
5. Check Instagram Permissions:- Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone (and also Settings > Privacy > Camera) and ensure that Instagram is listed and enabled.
6. Update iOS:- Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for and install any available updates.

Yes! I had sound on the share to IG feature with a little pulsing visual for mayyyybe a couple of weeks around Oct/Nov of '23 and then it disappeared. It was such a bummer, because I publicly commented about how excited I was about it and now I can't do it anymore. 😞
We suggest reaching out to Instagram? How is that being helpful? You may as well ask us to reach out to POTUS for a student loan pardon.
Hi. As I’m remembering correctly, there used to be sound when you shared a song to instagram stories. But why isn’t it a thing now?
Workaround:
Use Instagram stickers to get around this.
1. Take a screenshot or video of song from Spotify player
2. Click to share this song from Spotify select ‘Copy Link’
2. Create new Instagram story with screenshot or recorded video from step 1
3. Add a link sticker from Instagram with the link you copied and step one you can change text to ‘Listen on Spotify’ or something like that.
4. Add music via Instagram stories music feature (look for music note icon in upper right)
Takes more time, but now it does what I was hoping for instead of just sharing the visual. Really wish Spotify and Meta tech teams would work together to fix this. It’s kind of stupid.
