No option for 'offline' listening

My Question or Issue

On my Spotify app, there is no option to go offline, so even downloaded episodes have been using my data. Very frustrating and I can't find the option anywhere.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Try running a clean reinstall of the app, by following the steps in this Spotify Answer.

After that you should see the Offline mode option in Settings>Playback in the app.

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Just to clarify, the Offline Mode isn't available for free accounts. When there's a connection available, the app still consumes a certain amount of data when you play downloaded podcast episodes.

To prevent this, you can disable the data/cellular usage for Spotify from within your phone's settings and then play your downloaded episodes on the app without using data.
