Notification sound before playing music

My Spotify app plays the system notification sound before playing music nearly everytime after being idle for 30mins or so. Generally this sound is played along with the "connect to a device" popup which also is a bit annoying. Anyone know how to turn this off? It's gotten worse over time now it happens quite often throughout the day.

Would you mind sending us a screen recording where we can see the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to a different platform and send us the link to it.

On another note, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.

I tried to reproduce the issue and record it however I think I accidentally fixed it. As a work around I set the system notification sound to silent as that's the one it was playing. I then turned it back to a sound to record a video for you and it seems to have fixed itself 🤷🏽

Hello -

I face the same problem. 
Every few seconds or minutes (not specific rhythm) I hear a "drop" sound. 
It's like a water drop or the one you hear when you receive a message. 

It is super annoying. 

I noticed that I hear it only when I'm connected to my Sonos Arc. 

Spotify notifications are turned off. 

Software is up to date. 

No messages are coming in.

Any ideas?

We haven't had any other reports about this so far and we haven't encountered it so far. So that we can analyze what exactly is happening, could you please make a video of the behaviour and provide it to us? If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.
