Notifications stop music playing while connected to a Bluetooth speaker

My Question or Issue

When I get a text or other notification, the music will cut out completely. My phone is attached to my Bluetooth speaker when this happens. The music stops for about a minute, and then continues playing, but a minute into the song, or continues into the next song etc.

I checked the Bluetooth speaker by connecting it to my laptop and playing Spotify. It didn't cut out at all.

I also checked my phone without the Bluetooth speaker, and it works fine.

Is there anyway to fix this?
