OSF / ZTE BLADE incompatible with Spotify Music???

Solved!

OSF / ZTE BLADE incompatible with Spotify Music???

OMG! I am suddenly prevented from using Spotify on phone completely now. Why did this suddenly have to happen??

I clicked download when prompted this morning, to download Spotify Music. Play Store is telling me my phone, an Orange San Francisco, is incompatible with this version. WTF??? I now have no access at all to Spotify for my phone. Am I paying £9.99 a month for this??? Everything was normal and working fine up till now, there's no reason to suddenly ban my phone from Spotify.

When I go the original Spotify app, it comes back to the "You need to update Spotify" screen with the big exclamation mark and the download button. I can't find a way round it. Someone please help me... 😞

I'm trying to find out the same thing! The worst part is they disabled the old app, so it's not like you can even use it if you're happy with it.

Let's see if they answer here. Don't get your hopes up, Spotify support seems to disappear when they have to answer for the idiocy of their developers.

Unfortunately Spotify have announced they are no longer supporting armv6 devices. Discussion is over on this topic:

Ok thanks for your help, way better than going directly to customer support.

But what about my subscription?????? I paid £9.99 for a whole month's worth of portable music - the app on my phone. And now I have nothing. This is not fair!!!!!!

Refunds are something you do need to take up with the customer service guys:

Peter, you really need to update the boilerplate response you have for each person. I suggest something like:

"Spotify doesn't care about its subscribers. in response to a "hack" that one person suffered, in which no valuable data was stolen, they decided to force an update to a new app that cut off support for a number of subscribers using certain chipsets, and caused everyone to redownload all offline music, while not deleting old songs from the phone. Moderators have refused to answer why this "hack" would lead to this chain of events, and how the Spotify development team was able to create an update so quickly, considering it typically takes them months to fix the simplest problems (often of their own creation). Many people have found other streaming services, such as Google All Access, rdio, Beats, and Deezer."

I made plans relying on Spotify for music while I'm out and about. Now I have nothing. It is quite frankly sickening to have this just thrown in my face. Zero warning. Wasted subscription. And yes, I am yet to come across a satisfactory answer to this all.

Are we or are we not expected to upgrade our devices to meet the demands of this whim? Please, a straight answer.
