Could SPOTIFY make it possible to offline sync music to SD CARD its so freaking frustrating that all the offline music takes all the memory on the phone!
When will the offline sync to SD CARD feature be a possible. FIX IT FAST SPOTIFY!
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you download the desktop app to your computer, sync devices, then you are able to select location to download to on your phone/device
I actually think the user should be able to select where the songs are stored. What if the user wanted the internal memory for certain things and the external memory for other things. Eg. I would prefer to have photos stored on my phone and music on my SD card. Why? Because the internal memory is faster to read/write, and so it speeds up the ability to take burst photos.
...this is completely ridiculous. Since I've started using Spotify, I'm facing basic usability problems and crashes, and this is the newest. None of the solutions listed in this forum helped me. It simply does not save offline music to SD card. Cancelling my subscription in 3...2...
Make an option like this in Android settings page allready!
I've paid your sallery for 7 years so do some basic stuff for once.
Choose storage location:
Internal memory / SD-Card (if detected)
Choosing a new location will clear cache and you will need to download playlist data again.
Don't forget to reboot!!!
I tried to put the dld songs on sd for a while now.
Since few version it says it is integrated as the FAQ mention.
I tried this several times using the in app function to delete all files, or the android function to delete cache and app and clean with cc cleaner and delete manually the folders.
It never worked BUT
This morning I used the answer detailed with all steps AND REBOOTED.
This finally worked.
As I read a lot of topic on this matter since it was incredibly hard for the app to use the sd slot (54gb free) instead of the internal memory (4Gb free!!) to choose the best location, I also started my downloads in "amazing" sound.
Some post mention that if this option is enabled, the app will always choose the sd card as download folder.
I changed the in app option during the download (from amazing to great) and everything is now on SD.
I AM SO HAPPY
Still, IT SUCKS. This should be WAY MORE EASY!!
Well, the music is saved to the SD card, but another copy is also saved in the inernal memory. This defeats the purpuse completely.
I am using Xiaomi's MUI 6.6. Is that just me?
I've usually had to fill my phone to the max with random files before reinstalling Spotify. In that case it would install on my SD card, which is btw 60gb as opposed to my phones 16gb, there's always most available space on my SD card!
Due to other issues I'm repeatedly being asked to reinstall and now the above solution isn't working anymore.
Instead I plugged my phone to my computer, found the folder named com.spotify.music under my phone under android and simply dragged it to the SD card. Problem solved. I actually had to slap myself for not trying that earlier.
And yes, Spotify is way too filled with bugs! I've been looking into other services but Tidal just don't seem like it's bugfree yet + I like having an actual program instead of a website.
Rant on: I also don't understand why the h*ll I have to give out my creditcard info to get a free trial period with the competitors. Because we all know how safe our data is with these corporations, totally impossible to hack, so let's just spread the info around when not necessary. Would you like my social security number to go with that? It simply isn't public enough as it is.
