Pausing Problems on Android

My Question or Issue

Hi all. I've been having this issue for the last couple months and it's really annoying.  Basically, whatever I'm listening to will pause when I:

1. Unlock my phone

2. Open an app (but not every single app)

3. Interacting inside apps. Example- Texting/taking a photo on snapchat. It won't pause on the open of Snapchat in this case, it'll wait until I do one of those things. 

4. When I pull the notification bar down.

I gave Spotify all the permissions that I can find, as well as taking it off of the Android battery saver watchlist thing.  Every week or so I'll update Spotify if needed, so thats not it.  I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify twice now, and that fixed it for like a day.  I've been using Spotify at my current style (amount of time in app, type of media listened to, etc) for the last year at least so its nothing like that.  Any help would be appreciated, and if any more information is needed from my end just ask.  Thanks!
