Play downloaded content while offline

I went on a roadtrip and new I would be out of coverage areas for vast portions of the trip.  So I downloaded a bunch of music so that it would be available when I was out of coverage area.  Only trouble is that the app couldn't verify my sign-in when I was offline. 

What garbage!  Can't you cache that in the app?  I'm a premium user.  Each time I log in, just grab the data that proves I'm all up to date on my payments or whatever.  Then when I launch the app, check the cached data instead of getting online.  I was so disappointed.  Driving through BFE with no cell coverage and all this downloaded content that i couldn't play because spotify couldn't log in to see that I'm a valid user or whatever.

You shouldn't need to log in regularly. I'm pretty sure that logging out deletes downloaded content from the app.

If I have closed the app, and then launch while out of range for cell service, it attempts to log in, and since I have no service, I can't login, and since i can't log in it won't play the downloaded content
