The play pause bar does not appear, cant stop the app from playing music
Having the same issue on my Pixel. How do you mess up a MUSIC app so badly that you can't even PAUSE OR PLAY. Spotify is garbage.
I have had the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy A52. its been happening for about a week now.
Same here also samsung s21.. would alao like to point out when it plays up like this i keep loosing connectivity to my car music becomes patchy and steering wheel function is not working.
Its getting very irritating.
Hopefully sorted soon or i too will be cancelling premium.
Same problem here on a Moto G8 plus.
Have had this issue for over two weeks on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Have to close the app every time. This used to be a longtime issue for podcasts but now songs too.
My girlfriend experiences this as well, and re-installing doesn't make it work. She is about to cancel her subscription, because she ain't going back to iPhone.
Same here
I had the same problem. My son came to my rescue. Go to Play or App Store and install the update. That should do it.
I have to do a forced stop in the App settings to resolve this but it eventually reappears. Can we get an update to fix this. It's frustrating.
Under 'Devices',
I don't see toggle for 'Spotify Connect in background'.
This issue is back in version 8.7.42.943
Hi there @nolasong,
Thank you for your reply. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this.
Would you mind performing a clean reinstall to make sure there's no old cache files causing this?
On another note, if you have an SD card we suggest that you uninstall the app > turn off your phone > take out your SD card > turn on the phone again (without the SD card) > reinstall the app since the card can be corrupted.

Have a great Friday and start of your weekend 🙂
If this is ruining your life you never had one in the first place.
Issue still occurring.
I notice it's mostly people with Samsungs
I've got S20 and it's the first time I've noticed it today.
Definitely something to do with connecting to another device.
It was connected to my car via Bluetooth.
Results: no song info, no pause, prev track, next track at the bottom of the app.
Also none of the above when you swipe down for notifications view.
Only way to stop music without restart is to kill the app.
Sort it out please Spotify.
