My Question or Issue
After updating to the latest version of the Android app, playlists that are organized inside folders no longer appear in the add-to-playlist menu (the menu that appears when you tap ‘Add to other playlist’). At the top of the menu, it shows the playlists the song is in, but on Android, it no longer shows any playlist that is within a folder. These playlists do display correctly on desktop. If you search for a playlist that’s in a folder, though, it also does appear and correctly shows the tick symbol if the song is in the playlist.

Example: the song ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE by Bad Omens is in my playlists ‘alt-hardcore’ and ‘metalcore’, which are both inside folders. It’s also in ‘metal’, a playlist that’s not in a folder. If I open the add-to-playlist menu on the song, I only see the ‘metal’ playlist on mobile – but on desktop, I see all of them as expected.

I’ve verified that this behaviour across multiple songs. The issue consistently affects any playlist that is in a folder. If a playlist is in a folder, it does not appear in the mobile app when you’re in the add-to-playlist menu.

This only started happening after updating to the latest Spotify verison, the same update that fixed the add-to-playlist search field not working. While that has been fixed, this new issue has appeared that wasn’t there before.

I’ve tried clearing the cache and rebooting my phone but to no avail.

Pleased that my save button is back. Hope its here to stay this time, and not just 3 days again. Sry bout pessimism, but it has gone way to long for it to get fixed, so i am abit skeptical. I hope the folder issue well get solved aswell, and i hope that the ui programmer that decided to just wreck havoc on the playlist functionality keeps their trigger fingers in check and not expose us to some new half cooked “lets try this” solutions . I have been premium user for many years, but this almost made me quit spotify. Long live multiple and limitless playlists. Easy maintinable. Now lets get the option to block ai music.. merry x-mas
