Ringtones and Notification Stopped Working After Installing Spotify

I installed Spotify on my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and my Nexus 5 phone and lost all sounds on my Nexus 5.  MY phone calls, text messages, and calendar notification do not work at all.  I have checked all my setting over and over with no luck; I only get my phone to vibrate when a message or notification comes through.  I did have and removed the Zedge ringtones app thinking that might be the problem, not so.

That's strange. I can only reproduce this by toggling on "Do not disturb". Otherwise, spotify ducks gracefully to allow notification sounds. Try reinstalling spotify following the steps here.
