My Question or Issue

 

Spotify shuts down a few seconds after lock screen.  App is set to run in background already.

Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread. If you're still experiencing this issue, it's a good idea to make sure that the app has all necessary permissions and is excluded from any battery optimization. Follow these steps:

 

1. Mobile Settings> Apps> Spotify> Permissions. Allow everything you see there.

2. Mobile settings> Apps> Spotify> Battery> Optimize battery usage> select top All (not optimized for apps)> Spotify> disable.

3. Last step - restart the phone.

 

Note: Menu order may differ on different devices.

 

If that doesn't fix thing, it's possible some of the app files have gotten corrupted. Let us know if this issue persists once you've performed a clean reinstall on the affected device. We recommend this step since it'll get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and remove any damaged files from previous installations.
