Samsung - Spotify stops responding

Maybe someone has already come accross this issue. I am using Samsung Galaxy 7. Recently Spotify started to hanging up - music still plays, but you cannot do anything about it (stop, close the program or anything - only way to solve this is to restart the phone completely). Other software installed on the phone is working as usual so I assume this is something linked directly to Spotify.

I've had this when skipping repeatedly - there's a thread about this somewhere. You should be able to just force stop spotify from the app manager rather thaan rebooting.
