My Question or Issue
When I'm choosing playlists I want to add a track to, a lot of thumbnails (playlist covers) are not showing up. Same issue on my partner's Android phone.
Have the same issue, Galaxy S23+
Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out!
Just to confirm, have you tried any troubleshooting steps such as a clean reinstall? This can help resolve any cache related issues.
If that doesn't do the trick, could you send over the exact Spotify version you're running?
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Hi. Yes, I tried clean reinstall
Hey @oceankami,
Thanks for following up!
Just to confirm, does this only happen for you on mobile devices, or does it appear in the same way on other platforms? For example, do you notice any difference when using the desktop app or the Web Player?
It would also be great if you could give another internet connection a try. If you're currently on WiFi, you can try with 4G/5G. Should you be using any VPN, make sure to switch it off as well, as it may interfere with the service.
Should the issue persist, feel free to let us know your current app version, as it'll help us with the investigation.
Let us know how you get on!
It only happens on my smartphone, no such issue when I use a desktop app.
Also it doesn’t matter which network I am connected to
Thanks for the response @oceankami.
Since you're able to see the playlist cover art on desktop, this step might not make a difference, but could you try to recreate one of the playlists and let us know if this keeps happening on mobile? Create a new playlist then use the three dots on the existing one > Add to other playlist.
Something else that comes to mind is to disable/change any themes that you may be using on your mobile device.
Lastly, it'd be great if you could send us the current app version you're using as requested by @Maria in this post.
We'll be on the lookout.
Tbh, it doesn’t make sense to recreate playlists, cause most of the playlists that don't show ther covers are the playlists without a custom cover (so they use covers of tracks that are inside the playlis).
Also, if I close the menu, and open it again, covers will appear for most of playlists.
And my app version is 9.0.96.826
Hey there @oceankami,
Thanks for getting back to us.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us as it helps improve the overall user experience. We've passed the info on to the right team so they can have a closer look, but we're afraid we cannot commit to a specific timeframe for when this will be fixed. In the meantime, we recommend keeping the app up-to-date so you have the latest fixes and optimizations.
