My Question or Issue
After a recent phone update, it has become impossible to play songs through my mobile phone. Pressing on a song to play as per usual just brings up the song as normal, it looks like it is playing, but the time bar just stays as it is, and nothing plays. Searching for a song, album or artist will bring up possible matches, but when these are pressed, the screen sticks on a blank screen.
I have tried clearing the cache, data, and uninstalling/reinstalling. This hasn't worked and has only deleted the contents of all the playlists on the phone. One thing I noticed when opening the app for the first time after reinstalling was that it said I had no internet connection. However, the Wi-Fi settings on the phone clearly show that the phone is connected to my home Wi-Fi, and all other apps/browsers that use the internet are working normally.
When I log into my account on my laptop, everything works fine and my playlists are all there with the songs in them. I can also play songs from the phone through Wi-Fi connected devices such as an EchoDots and laptops.
Really scratching my head with this one... pretty frustrating!
Hey there @Eclectic2,
Thanks for the reply.
We're glad to see that everything works as it should for you and also for you sharing your solution.
Have a good continued weekend 🙂
Worked for me too ! Both my kids have A10’s, uninstalled Spotify, removed SD card and reinstalled. All good, then reinsert SD card. Back in business! 🤩

Hey there @CaptainOllie,
Thanks for getting in touch about this.
Would you mind letting us know what exactly happens when you try to listen to your songs?
Also, could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried? That way we can avoid any repeating steps.
If you haven't performed a clean reinstall of the app following these specific steps, we suggest that you do so to see if that makes the difference.
Keep us posted.
It works on Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4S, thanks!
Has any solution been found yet
Thank you so so much. This worked perfectly. I have been desperately trying to create a Playlist for my mom's funeral. Thank you Thank you!!
Hi there @Dorrcole,

Thanks for this fix. I was having the same problem as everyone else. I did what you suggested and that worked! So glad to have my music back! This took several iterations of fixing and yours worked so THANKS!! Have a great day!

Cheers - that worked for me!
It won't work premium for streaming at all because it has something to do with the ads on the Galaxy A50 a20 and A10 will not let Spotify work without the ads it's something to do with Android ,and not Samsung or Spotify their selfs so to fix the problem is to get away from premium
A20 here too. My spotify has been busted for months now. Honestly just feel defeated.
Does not work. I am paying for something I cannot access. I will cancel my subscription
Found a fix, logged in using the email address and clicking 'don't use a password'. It sent me an email and I was able to log back in then it worked. When I logged in using the password saved to Samsung account it caused these problems.
