Same here - Pixel6A
Me too 6a
I'm having the same issue (Pixel 7). I started putting on Maps and starting directions to random spots, seems to work for some weird reason since there's something else active in the background.
I'm also having this issue. Pixel 7 Pro, Android 14 AP2A.240705.004
Songs stop and start on Bluetooth as soon as the device locks. All battery optimisation is disabled for Spotify.
I can confirm that it doesn't happen at all while the screen is on or in any screen state while the phone is plugged into the charger. So it seems its some Android 14 battery optimisation gone wrong.
However it's up to Spotify to play by Google's rules...
What fixed it for me was going to settings> Display> Lock screen and turning off always show time and info on pixel devices
I think I've found a solution, I set the type of device to "headphones" in the info of my bluetooth headphones. For the moment it works...
Same thing here, on pixel 8 pro... **bleep** annoying.
I've had this issue for months. I've reset my phone back to factory and it seems to have fixed it. But only time will tell
So far this has been the best fix for me on my Google Pixel 7, i've been searching for a fix for near on 2 months, Good bless you my hero.
Hihi, I have the same issue. What is your fix actually?
Hi there, what is the solution you used? Thanks a lot in advance!
Mine was doing thus settings> Display> Lock screen and turning off always show time and info on my pixel
Same here, I tried everything you mentioned but it just keeps happening ALL the time. It's SO annoying!
Hey all, the issue happened to me again for the first time in a while.
I was able to run a logcat, and right away it seems there's a crash involving the audio server. While I can't be certain that this is the issue, it sure seems interesting. (The audio cut out at the start of the log too, so the timing makes sense. The audio actually was cutting in and out during the logging process, although before the log it was the typical "play with screen on, stop when screen off")
The log is attached below. I encourage anyone interested to take a look through it and see if anything weird pops out to you.
If the log indeed reports the issue, hopefully we can narrow down specifically what the issue is and a deeper level.
A few notes:
1. I use my phone in Japanese, so it seems some strings in the log is in Japanese. モバイル デバイス means "mobile device" and このデバイス means "this device."
2. I had to do the log over wireless ADB, as the issue went away while the phone was charging (and therefore ADB over USB wouldn't deliver anything useful)
EDIT: If the download button won't work on the log, right-click it and then "open link in new tab."
New Pixel 8 is having this problem. Please fix this, Spotify!
Hello, this started happening to me about 1.5 months ago. Google Pixel 6a. Intermittently pauses when playing music and the screen goes to sleep, either through earbuds or through phone speaker. No problem with podcasts. I've tried deleting, clearing files, then reinstalling Spotify. No updates available. Please help because it makes Spotify music unusable and I am considering switching at this rate!
It just seems that neither Spotify nor Google cares, which is frustrating. I will cancel my subscription and switch to another service (not YouTube Music since Google is part of the problem). I encourage y'all to do the same because this is unacceptable and has been happening for too long.
I actually switched to YouTube music and have had no issues so far.
While I feel Google is part of the problem (and that this issue may be a Pixel-specific problem), given YT Music has worked completely fine (knock on wood), it makes me think it's a problem that might have a solution, one that Spotify doesn't care to fix.
If you (or anyone else) try a new service, I encourage you (or you all) to record your findings here to provide recommendations for anyone else having this issue!
This happens to me too on my Pixel 7 Pro! I thought I was the only one. It happens even if I'm playing music through the phone's built in speakers so I know it's not Bluetooth related. If my screen is locked, Spotify randomly pauses every few seconds until I restart my phone.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
