Spotify Connect interfering with Podcast Addict

My wife and I use Spotify Premium. I was using the Windows desktop Spotify Premium program. My wife was in her car using Podcast Addict via Bluetooth. She called to complain that everytime a new song played on my desktop, Spotify would stop her music and show details about the next song I was listening to. She would have to manually restart the Podcast Addict feed. I'm assuming this is due to Spotify Connect.

How do I disable Spotify Connect so that it doesn't maliciously interfere with other apps on our Android mobile device?
