Description
When playing songs spotify (offline mode) causes excessive CPU usage compared to other music apps and maintains partial wakeclocks even after the song has been paused/stopped thereby draining the battery (about 4-5% an hour compared to 1-2% with other apps). Upon inspection of CPU frequencies I saw that Spotify almost always engaged the maximum frequency of 2.3GHz (Snapdragon 800) of a single core, while also sometimes activating the seoncd one, compared to other music apps which rarely forced the CPU above 300MHz.
What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?
Cached only a single song offline, looped it for an hour
What I expected to happen
Other music players when the screen is off, maintain the processor at 300mhz
