My Question or Issue

When using the Spotify Stations app on my phone, every song is scrobbled to Last.fm twice. This only happens with the Spotify Stations mobile app. When using the regular Spotify mobile/web/desktop app, songs are scrobbled once as expected.

Hi @danekbarney,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

Could you confirm that the double scrobbles occur when you have both the desktop app and the mobile app open with Spotify Connect?

In the mobile app's, you can try disabling the Device Broadcast Status feature to see if that helps prevent double scrobbles.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!

Yes you are right, the double scrobble happens when I have both mobile app and desktop app open. I checked my mobile app settings and "Device Broadcast Status" was already disabled.

The reason I have both mobile + desktop apps open is because I am on my laptop most of the day and prefer the interface of the desktop app for navigation and playback control, but I need to have playback routed through the mobile app because my phone is connected to my bluetooth speaker, and my laptop doesn't have bluetooth.

This seems like a bug. Is there anyway to avoid the double scrobbles with both mobile + desktop apps open?

Hey @danekbarney,

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, in this case I don't think there's much that can be done, since Last.fm is a third party service and Spotify doesn't have direct control over it.

I'd recommend reaching out to Last.FM and reporting it to them as well.

We're here is you have more questions.
