Spotify does not work on HTC Desire V

Have downloaded the spotify app onto my HTC Desire V (Android version 4.0.3) and when I open the app it gives me a blank white screen with the spotify heading at the top of the screen next to a menu button (if I press the menu button a blank menu screen comes across).  If I can't get spotify to work then I'll have to stop my subscription as I am paying for nothing at the moment.

Hi there. Does the phone have an SD card in its slot?

Not at the moment, does it need one for spotify to run?

I have exactly the same problem. I have in my phone a 2gb micro sd card.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Y Pro duos.

Yeah there have been reports of this issue if the phone doesn't have an sd card - it needs somewhere to cache data
