If battery saver mode is on, try turning it off. Also try excluding spotify from android's doze:
Open the Settings app on your phone (Pull down the notifications shade, and tap the gear in the upper right corner, or find “Settings” in the App Drawer.)
2. Tap Battery.
3. Tap the menu button and choose “Battery optimization.”
4. Tap the dropdown menu at the top of the screen and select “All apps.”
5. Scroll down to Spotify - tap it and select "Don't Optimize"
If you are running a third party battery saver or memory clener, add an exclusion for spotify.
I play Spotify Premium on three devices - Galaxy S6 Edge, Nexus 7, Yoga 2 Pro. They all have the latest OS versions and up-to-date drivers and what not. Every time I play either downloaded or streamed music on good networks too (4G, Wi-Fi), it just stops playing after two songs or so and pulls up a random song in my starred folder. What is going on here? I have been using Spotify Premium for over 2 years and never had this problem till like a month ago.
I have tried researching on this problem but haven't gotten anywhere. Desperate for a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Version 1.9.0 for both Android devices and 1.0.6 for Windows desktop.
Now...I discovered the source of the problem. It's my phone - the Galaxy S6 Edge. No matter what device I play Spotify on, if the Edge shows on screen (3 devices are Spotify Connect-ed) the music being played, the music stops. How do I know this? When I power down the Edge, music plays uninterruptedly on the other two devices. Power it back on, and the Edge stops the music.
Weird ain't it?
Having the same issue in that my Galaxy S6 (not edge). Spotify is stopping randomly in the middle of songs. When I hit play to restart it starts at the begining of the song. Won't even make it through one song.
mine does the same thing, stops playing music randomly. Today i had logged out and logged back in, and now its re downloading all of my songs again. Such a waste of time. Ever since the recent updates the music cuts out, scrolling through the playlist selection is choppy, and stops at the same spot every time i scroll down. I wish there was some way to go back to an older, not buggy version. Does anyone have a rooted phone with maybe a backup of an old version, or a link to an older version would be great.
I did a clean install and it seems to have fixed the problem
