Spotify on Android Auto does not work anymore

I have been using Spotify with Android Auto in my 2017 Audi A4 for some time now and despite some minor hickups it was working fine. 

But for some time now (perhaps the last update from 01/24/2018) Spotify does not work on Android Auto. Any input does nothing. When I start Playback in the Spotify App on my Samsung 7 the music is playing fine and the android auto spotify app is showing all the current information. But no input is registered.

Same issues with my Subaru and android auto. I reported the issue to google.

For me it is working again after the Spotify app has been updated again.

Same for me! I've been testing since last week with a few cars and
everything has worked fine.
