Spotify starting automatically

My Question or Issue

Not a new issue, from reading the forums it's a widespread problem that's been unresolved for a long time.

I want Spotify to start only when I start it. But it starts whenever I connect to Bluetooth, it tries to jump in when I'm listening to music via other apps. It starts up when I touch the car stereo. If it wasn't for this I'd be happy paying my premium subscription but keen to know if there is a solution, otherwise will need to look at other apps. Any ideas?
