Description
When I play a playlist on my Android, usually a few songs will play normally and then suddenly the music will stop (usually when starting a new song, but rarely also in the middle of a song). This happens no matter if I'm in offline mode or not, but I'm only playing playlists that I have downloaded to the phone, not streaming ones (haven't tried it with streaming ones over WiFi).
Sometimes the app will still be open, showing the play button but no song selected, the time bar displaying 0.01 at the far right, sometimes the app will crash altogether, sometimes I get an error message ("Ungültiger Pfad" which is German for "invalid path" or "path not found").
Especially annoying when driving, by the way.
What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?
1. I open Spotify on Android
2. I select a downloaded playlist
3. I click "Shuffle & Play"
4. I wait. 🙂
What I expected to happen
The playlist plays through

If you have a quick search of the forum there are a lot of reports of this since the last updsate. My recommendation is grab the previous apk and install this manually.
Remember to disable automatic updates on the Play Store else you may find yourself back on this buggy version.
You can find a link to the previous version via my signature.
Thank you Daniel for the links...I am hopping this will work..but the true test will be tomorrow provided i am in the shop all day, other wize Monday..I uninstalled version 2.2.0.636 and installed version 2.3.0.794 if that dose not work i guess i will try version 2.2.0.621 .
Again Thank You for your help and support plus the links the Spotify Version History is wonderful 🙂
Had the same problem, tried installing the latest Spotify version from Daniel. Have played around 5-6 songs now and it's still going.
Edit: Aaaand playback stops again on version 2.3.0.794... Going to try the older 2.2.0.621 version now.
Edit 2: Nope, playback still stops, I'm done, fix this **bleep**!
Edit 3: Hell, my songs even disappear...
Well have fun reading

Tried both, but I'm usually logging in with Facebook.
Note:
I've literally tried everything. Deleting cache memory, both from the phone and from Spotify. Restarting. Logging in with Facebook and logging in with my username. Deleting the whole app and redownloading it.
Fix this, I'm ain't paying you for a music service that doesn't work.
I got an e-mail from the Dutch Spotify support center. They told me to hold my tablet in portrait position and this worked.
I also started the Spotify app holding my phone in landscape mode and then switching to portrait mode. So far so good. I'll keep you guys up-to-date on how this works. But I have a feeling it's fixed.
Downloaded songs.
It just started within the last few days.
Well today was the test..it went poorly as before only one sometimes two songs would play then stop. I did not that in settings on my phone under Data usage, Data usage Cycle , was checked so I unchecked that and then 4 or 5 songs would play, so i started to Stop as many running processes as i could but this did not help still not working ..the thing is iI have not installed or used any app's on this phone before or after it started to not work...guess maybe Spotify is just not ready for me or my phone ..so thinking if this is not worked out before my next payment . I may well bail on Spotify
I'm sure Spotify just needs an update. But God knows how long that's gonna take.
I just got a new Android phone last week and have been extremely frustrated to discover this problem between Spotify and Android phones. In perusing this thread it appears that this issue has existed for quite some time. Is Spotify going to resolve this anytime soon, or should I just start looking around for a different music service?
well last night I got busy and un-installed as many app's from my phone as i figured I could. All but Spotify, Shut down my phone and restarted after each uninstall .... Also in Spotify under settings I saw that Device Broadcast Status was on. Turned that off. Then just before bed time I saw Spotify updated on it own from version 2.3.0.794 to Version 2.3.0.828. Anyway tried it to day in the shop (work) and it worked perfectly all day
So I am not sure what fixed it .. but problem solved .. hope the rest of you are also fixed up 🙂
I had similar problems. I noticed I didn't get any commercials so I believe this has something to do with it. I am also using corporate internet. I was logged in and linked to facebook. I switched profile to private session and commercial came up. Now songs are back to normal and ads are back as well.
I have the same problem. All of a sudden Spotify quits playing after about 5 minutes of playback...What can I try?
4.1.0.868
