Spotify stops playing and shuts down

I have a premium plan, in Canada, and my problem is with my Samsung Galaxy 9 phone, Android version 9.

It all started about 2 weeks ago and I've been using spotify on my phone for a few years with no issues. 

I can't get through 10 minutes of songs before it completely stops mid song and shuts down. I've googled this issue and it looks like others have similar problems but I can't get a clear answer; I've tried to uninstall, clear cache, stop notifications and delete account on all devices. I'm at a loss.

Can anyone help me out with clear instructions? I'm not technically challenged but I need specific details when it comes to my phone and spotify.

Can you try adjusting any battery restriction settings in your phone's main settings?

Check if Spotify is listed under "Sleeping apps".
